After a two-year hiatus, Blue Veil unveils a new EP of the discerning and elegant ambient electronics that made his previous releases such a compelling listen. Back on the Dichotomy label, five tracks exquisitely unfurl on the ‘Urban Alienation’ EP.

A cinematic tone is achieved on the title track, as choral voices glide over waves of strings and a passive rhythm section, whilst ‘Imagination Of Ourselves’ presents a brisker tempo, as micro beats entangle with complex synth sequences.

‘All Over The World’ acts as a perfect ambient interlude, as irregular soft kicks and tender notes let the dusty production carry its message, whilst ‘Together’ kick starts the second half of the EP with an infectious breakbeat and a drizzly ambience, as an emotive melody plays out. Concluding this assured release, ‘We Used To Do’ sets flight on a wave of stirring chords and a syrupy vocal for another beatless piece.
